Mah besties Nevi and Hermie are officially published authors!!!

Their first book “Monster: Book One” was published today.  They are so proud and squealing around the house. This book (along with the many others in the Parliament of Twilight universe) have been in write-edit-rewrite for a few years at this point. It’s an amazing feeling to finally be able to share it with all of you. I’ve already read “Monster” (a couple of times, since I’m the editor for Wandering Stars Press) and it’s fantastic. The characters are so complex, the story lines will keep you guessing all along, and the sex scenes are just… woah. lol I have honestly rarely read erotica that had equal quality to the sex scenes and the story line, and they give equal weight to both.

I can’t wait for people to get their eyes on these books because I know the story is gonna grab you and not let go.

Nevi does all of the official artwork for Wandering Stars Press, including the book covers.

Spreading the Love

I just read about the idea of a “Loved” file and I think it’s absolutely wonderfull! I follow this blog ArtBiz which has fantastic articles about building an art business and, specifically, marketing your art. But this article I’ve just come across could really spread into anyone’s life as a joyous reminder of how much you are loved.

She suggests that you make a file on your computer (if you’re not a real tech-savvy person you could totally make yourself a lovely decorated shoebox or such) where you save all the compliments you receive, encouraging notes, loving comments from your blog or facebook page. Then when you receive something nasty (you know haters gonna hate) or just have a bad day, you can pull up your file or pull out your happy little box and remember how much love there is for you. Love this idea! It really does help to remind ourselves sometimes that there is more joy than anger, more love  than hate, in the world. And that people are really much more good than bad.

I’m totally going to start this file on my computer right now. 🙂

Zombie Xmas Extravaganza!

Our candy & treats themed Xmas tree

Monday was Zombie Xmas at my house. (Lemme tell you – having Xmas after the holiday is genius!) We had such a great time. Hermie & Nevi love to play the parent part so they get up early and arrange all the presents, fill the stockings, etc. Then they wake up me & Myke and wait in the living room with camera poised for our shockfaces. lol

This is totally my actual face the moment I walked out! lol

We spent all day eating cookies and candies, opening presents, playing with our new toys. Owen had the best time ever pouncing thru and rolling around in the aftermath of wrapping paper.

Everyone was so happy and smiling. Our house was full of laughing. My heart was all warm and fuzzy from seeing everyone so excited and so much joy. I don’t think Xmas could have gone any better than it did.

The Joy of Giving

A big part of the reason that I do what I do (make plushies, clothes, art) is because I want to spread more joy in the world. Yes, of course I expect to be paid for my work, but my motive is the same. I want to make people happy. So there is nothing better than delivering a commission myself and seeing the total joy on my customer’s face when she opens up the box with her plushie inside. When I gave Teesha her finished commission today she literally squealed and hugged me. She was hugging him and giggling over how perfect he was. That gives me so much joy – to see someone that happy as a result of my work. It really makes my day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am moving into 2013 with love and blessings in my heart. I have so many things I want to make happen coming into the new year. I am excited about all the growth and changes that I want to see in my life this year. I will do my best to stay positive, take care of myself and make a conscious effort to put more joy and light into the world.
